Merck & Co. Inc in USA have announced in Nov 2009 that they will no longer be producing MUMPSVAX.

This is at the end of a long period of confusion and uncertainty regarding their intentions after new stocks were not released from the middle of 2008.

At the current time Merck's Mumpsvax is the only monovalent or single antigen mumps vaccine approved by the MHRA for importation to the UK. We are therefore in the process of obtaining the required official scrutiny and approval of alternative manufacturer's products for use in the UK.

This process is likely to take some time and is not guaranteed to succeed despite the use of these products widely across the world.
