We regret to say that there are no stocks of mumps vaccines with us or indeed with the manufacturers (Merck and Co) in USA at the current time. According to our best information, the next batch was due to be released in the USA by Merck and Co. in April 2009. However, there is no indication that this will actually occur. The manufacturer has not released any information to clinics or suppliers but we have now seen the following statement on the CDC website (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, USA): Click here to view

"In December 2008, Merck communicated with CDC that it was not producing or taking orders for the monovalent vaccines ATTENUVAX® (measles vaccine), MUMPSVAX® (mumps vaccine) and MERUVAX® (rubella vaccine). Merck has not yet made a decision about the future availability of these three monovalent vaccines. Updated March 2, 2009."
